Some of our Lonely hearts

Bob - fostered in Knighton

image13

Bob is a 1 year old medium-sized boy currently fostered in Knighton.  His breed mix is possibly Jack Russell x Collie. He is a gorgeous, lively boy, full of intelligence and personality. He loves to play - with other dogs, toys and humans too.

Bob is highly motivated by food and can be trained with normal dog food, let alone treats. He has the potential to be a very well behaved boy; now what he needs is someone who can put the time in with him. He would be fabulous at agility or canicross. Shy with strangers at first, he soon comes round and is OK with older, dog-savvy older children, and cats.

He walks nicely on-lead, recalls well, is house trained and would love a forever home either with a playful dog for company, or a human he can form a really close relationship with.

Bracken - fostered in Norfolk

image14

Bracken (also known as Blackie) is a 2 year old medium sized female currently fostered in Norfolk. She was rescued from a terrible public shelter in Romania. She is a tripod and missing a back leg after a road traffic accident. She recovered remarkably well and was raring to go straight after the op! Now she is fully recovered she is looking for a special forever home. Having 3 legs certainly doesn’t hold Bracken back. Shes a young dog and loves to run, jump and play! Bracken adores the people she knows and is very loving but can be wary of strangers initially. She is currently fostered with a mix of different dogs of age and size who she gets on well with and would do well with a friend of her own. She has been away in the caravan with her fosterers on a few occasions now and has enjoyed it. Bracken is house trained and walks well on a lead. She has lived with cats in the past and was gentle with them. Bracken just needs an adopter who will understand her needs and not put pressure on her at first. Once she trusts you, she will love and follow you no matter what.

Roe fostered in Bolton

image15

Roe is a 17 month old neutered male who’s currently in Bolton. He’s been in the UK since a young pup so is very much used to life here. He was originally found abandoned as a small pup with the rest of his litter. He has been living with other dogs and would happily live with them but could also perhaps be adopted as an only dog too. He has been around children of various ages throughout his life but feel he would be best in a home with adults or teenagers rather than small children. He’s playful and can be very loving. He can initially be wary of strangers visiting the home but soon gets used to them. Day to day Roe would benefit from a quiet family home but has spent trips away in a caravan which he enjoyed and has started agility training. He would benefit from 121 positive training and is looking for an adopter who will provide this. Please enquire for more information.

Otto - fostered in North Yorkshire

image16

Otto is an 8 month old Shepherd mix boy currently fostered in North Yorkshire. Otto was found as a small pup in Romania and we believe he was hit by a car. He does sometimes limp on one of his legs and had full X-rays done. The vet concluded that surgery does not need to be done. We are happy to discuss further with any future adopter. Otto has been in the UK since the beginning of the month and is doing well in his foster home. He has a calm nature and is currently in foster with two other dogs (male and female) and children. We feel Otto could potentially live with older confident children 11+. He is currently living in a rural area and getting used to his livestock neighbours. His fosterer is gradually getting him used to life in England and believes he will be a great family dog for a lucky adopter. Otto is fully vaccinated, neutered and comes with his passport.

Dexter - fostered in Knighton

image17

Dexter is a 2 year old corgi cross fostered in South-West Shropshire.  Currently fostered with a mixture of other dogs, he gets on well with all of them. He's a handsome, angelic-looking fluffy golden boy with a cheeky smile.

Dex enjoys cuddles,  is house trained, great on the lead, recall etc: an all-round good boy - but isn’t so keen on strangers visiting the home so this is something that will have to be managed. Dexter would suit an adult home with other dogs, possibly as an only dog.

His adopter/s  will need to have an understanding of his fear of incursions on his home. Rescue dog experience ideally.

Amelie - currently in Romania

image18

Amelie is a 1-2 year old female dog. We took Amelie from a rural area in Romania where we believe she had been abandoned and took her to the spay/neuter campaign to get her spayed. Seeing how sweet she was we didn’t have the heart to put her back out on the streets. Amelie is a medium sized girl and to us she’s perfect. She is sweet and loving once she’s spent a little time with you. We feel she would do best in a home with an existing dog as often we find it helps them settle in a lot better and they are able to follow the lead. We feel she would be happiest in a home with adults/teenagers. We do not know what she is like with cats yet but this can be tested. Amelie is currently in Romania and ready to travel to the UK in January.

Tinsel

image19

Tinsel is a 3 year old small-medium female dog. Tinsel was left on Claudias doorstep by a neighbour just before Christmas. Sadly not the first time a neighbour has given Claudia a ‘gift’. Tinsel can be a little shy of humans at first. She’s no doubt spent her life kept in a yard so not experienced much in her life. She is mixing well with the other dogs and has recently been spayed. Tinsel is currently at our shelter in Romania but can travel to the UK soon.

Keith

image20

Keith is a 5 year old Pekingese mix male dog. He may be small in size but big in personality! He was found abandoned and we’d say it really is their loss! He’s a lovable boy. He will need a home with an adopter who can spend time settling him in and give him some training. He was recently neutered and mixing ok with other dogs. He does prefer female dogs to males. Keith is currently at our shelter in Romania and will travel once he has a home lined up.

Esme - currently in Romania

image21

Esme is a 4 year old small-medium pekingese/spaniel mix. Esme was rescued with her mother. They spent their life kept in a yard. Esme can be shy with strangers but once you've spent a little time with her and earn her trust she is the most loving, cuddly, playful little girl. She loves her toys and playing with other dogs.

Dodo - currently in Romania

image22

Dodo is around 10 years old. He is a medium sized dog who was rescued from a public shelter and not much is known about his past. He has been a friendly, affectionate boy with us and there's definitely a lot of life left in him.

Asha -currently in Romania

image23

Asha is a 4 year old  female dog. We rescued her recently from a spay campaign in the village. She was very skinny and we didn't have the heart to put her out on the streets. She adores her food. She has been living with other dogs. She can be a little shy initially unless you have treats! Then it doesn't take her long to get used to you.

Leia - currently in Romania

image24

Leia is a 1 year old small-medium female. We took Leia and her friend Sasha on from one of Claudias neighbours after the spay campaign in the village. They were destined to live their life on a chain fed bread and we couldn’t let that happen. Leia is still definitely pup like and could possibly be a little under a year. She’s playing well with the other dogs at our shelter and once she knows you she’s very sweet. She has settled well but is wary of strangers so does need an adopter with a little experience to help her settle in to a new home. She’d do great in a home with other dogs. We are looking for an adult/teenager only home for Leia and we can cat test her if needed.

Sasha- currently in Romania

Sasha is a 2 year old small-medium female terrier mix. We took Sasha and her friend Leia on from one of Claudias neighbours after the spay campaign in the village. They were destined to live their life on a chain fed bread and we couldn’t let that happen. Sasha is playing well with the other dogs at our shelter and once she knows you she’s very sweet. She has settled well but is wary of strangers so does need an adopter with a little experience to help her settle in to a new home. She’d do great in a home with other dogs. We are looking for an adult/teenager only home for Sasha and we can cat test her if needed.
